A Sense of Place #2: The Cairngorms

"The second film in the Sense of Place series takes place on the frozen plateau of the Cairngorms National Park in the Highlands of Scotland.

The plateau, a relic from the last ice age, is home to species more commonly associated with the high Arctic than the U.K. The film takes viewers into this frigid world, where boulder fields ring with the strange call of the Ptarmigan, Reindeer dig for food in the frozen ground, and Snow Hare hide from Golden Eagles soaring above.

The Sense of Place series offers an intimate view of wildlife habitats across the U.K. Without the use of narration or a definitive plot, the films invite viewers to take what they want from the film, illustrating as closely as possible what it is like to explore the habitat first hand."
